Creating & Editing Deals

  1. Go to Deals in the sidebar
  2. Click New Deal
  3. Fill in:
    • Title (required) — a short name for the deal (e.g., “Website redesign for Acme”)
    • Contact — link it to an existing contact
    • Value — the expected revenue
    • Stage — where this deal is in the pipeline
    • Expected close date — when you expect to close it
    • Notes — any relevant context
  4. Click Save

Click on any deal in the list, then click Edit to update its details.

Change the stage to Won. This deal will now count toward your revenue in reports.

Change the stage to Lost and optionally fill in the Lost reason field. This helps you track patterns in why deals don’t close.

Click the Export button on the Deals page to download all your deals as a CSV file. The export includes: ID, contact ID, title, stage, value, expected close date, notes, and lost reason.

  • Always link deals to a contact — this makes it easy to see all deals for a client in one place
  • Use the expected close date to plan your cash flow
  • Review lost deals monthly to spot trends and improve your pitch
